Movie Star!

UPDATE!  The link at the bottom of this post now works!!  Check it out!

We always knew Katie was special and would accomplish interesting and unusual things. She got her 15 minutes (2 minutes actually) of fame in a documentary about Kirov.
Katie and her fellow exchange students seen in these pictures are featured in the video at the link on the bottom of this posting. Totally awesome! The kids are shown at about 5:00 to about 7:00 on the video...check it out!

Special Olympics

Ryan at Granite Peak
The Special Olympics Winter Games were held this weekend in Wausau. I love going to the races as much as I hate going to the glacier covered Granite Peak. The good outweighs the bad and we make the trek every year. Coaching this sport is a hoot!

Ryan earned a medal! He competed in Slalom, GS and Downhill events.

Ryan kinda liked the "hot stuff" sticker that Bill gave him. The Winter Games are a great chance to see the "once a year friends"

Shrooomssssssssssss!!

Yeah, it is too early to start seeds, too early to start rooting plant cuttings, and too cold and too snowy to poke around outside. Looking through the garden catalogs helps the cabin fever a bit, but it isn't the same.

We do have a few things growing though! Take a look! YUMMMMMM!!!!!

Winter Drags On...and On...and On....

You know the winter is getting bad when even the snowmen want to check out!

“It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily."

"So it is."

"And freezing."

"Is it?"

"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately.”

(Keep it all in perspective!)

Ski Bums

For the first time in about 10 years, our Sunday afternoons aren't monopolized by ski race lessons or traveling to a race somewhere. Emily has officially retired! It has been a fun run though. She has been on Trollhaugen's D-Team for years and years and had lots of adventures.

Emily qualified for the NASTAR Nationals and we went to Park City for the races. We got to meet some famous ski racers...very cool!!

Emily at Wild Mountain

Having fun between races at Park City.

Wild Mountain award ceremony

One of her last D-Team races at Trollhaugen.

Soooo....Emily is "retired" from racing...but she came out of retirement for a few NASTAR runs at Trollhaugen on Sunday. Check out the video below! The kid still has the moves!
