Time Lapse of the Corpse Flower Blooming at Como

Ewwwwwww...that corpse flower reeks!

The endangered Sumatran flower, nicknamed "Bob, too," blooms for about 24 hours and during that time, it smells like rotting flesh.  The flower's fragrance attracts carrion eating insects to help pollinate it.

The girls!

A perfect ending to a great day!

Hot 'Nuf Fer Ya?

Lily pond is just starting to bloom.  This heat will warm that water up FAST.

Even the lions were too hot to move.

Giraffes ambled from shady area to shady area.

The tropical flowers were hap-hap-happy!
Spending some time in the hot and steamy fern garden made the 102 degrees feel cool by comparison.
